JCC of Marine Park Pesach Distribution

This year, the JCCMP held its annual Pesach Food Distribution on Sunday, March 23. This incredible initiative serves over 200 families in the Marine Park area by providing cases of food and holiday essentials. In response to the rising cost of eggs, we were able to distribute an entire case of eggs to each family to help with Pesach cooking and baking. Additionally, each recipient received a gift card voucher to Glatt Mart, enabling them to purchase meat or any other items they may need. We’d like to extend a huge thank you to Menucah Worcman for coordinating the entire project and to our community volunteers and elected officials, including NYC Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, who helped pack and distribute the boxes. Special thanks also go to Shmira for providing security and organizing the event.

Purim Nosh Galore

The staff at the JCC was busy sorting through bags and bags of delicious nosh donated by our amazing community members during the post-Purim week. Everything was carefully organized into categories, including snacks, pastries, candies, beverages, and even some healthy options. We were thrilled to distribute the treats to children from local kiruv schools and families in need.

Urchatz Towel Decorating

Our first Urchatz towel decorating class, held back in March, was such a hit that we knew we had to do it again, just in time for Pesach! The JCCMP Kids Club will hosted another fun, hands-on session in late March where children aged four and up decorated their own towels for the Pesach Seder. With colorful fabric markers, kids will have the chance to outline their names, stencil fun pictures, and get creative!

Flying High with JCCMP

Boys aged 12-16 are soaring to new heights with our weekly aviation classes led by pilot Rafi Rafaeli. The students are diving into everything from aviation and aerodynamics to aircraft systems and flight instruments. Throughout the nine sessions, they’ll gain hands-on experience and knowledge, and at the end, they’ll even visit a real-time control tower to see what goes on behind the scenes of flight. Upon completing the course, each student will receive a certificate of completion. Rafi, an instructor at 770 CFI Services, is committed to supporting students on their path to becoming pilots.

Sunday Funday

The Girls Sunday Program continues to be a huge hit! Every Sunday, girls in fifth and sixth grade gather at the JCC to enjoy Zumba dancing with Penina Schwartz and art sessions with Faygee Beer. The girls have created some amazing artistic projects, from bracelets and panda paintings to beautiful collages. It’s always a fun and creative way to end the week!
