INAUGURATION EVENT FOR SENATOR ANDREW GOUNARDES
On Sunday, January 27, the community gathered together to inaugurate State Senator Andrew Gounardes who represent the 22nd District including Marine Park and Bay Ridge. Rabbi Boruch Pesach Mendelson of Khilah Marine Park was chosen to give the benediction for the incoming senator.

Rabbi Yechiel Kalish of Chicago, IL, was recently appointed to the State Legislature representing Skokie, West Rogers Park, and other areas of Illinois. Rabbi Kalish is the first Orthodox rabbi to hold this post in the state. Rabbi Kalish is the former director of Agudath Israel of America.
