Dear Readers,

With the summer months approaching and the good weather coming, the JCC will once again be organizing a safety street fair and concert. It will be held on Sunday, June 11 from 12 PM to 4 PM in front of the JCC, at 3415 Quentin Road. We will be giving out free bicycle helmets to the first 500 children. You can pre-register and skip the line by visiting the JCCMP website at www.jccmp.org. The event will also feature rides, a magic show and of course staple items such as cotton candy and popcorn.

May was a very successful and busy month of free computer courses. If you missed the opportunity to take a course, you will have another chance in June when we offer more classes in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, LinkedIn, and time management. Please visit our website for our June schedule.

All courses are free; all you have to bring is your laptop. I would like to take this opportunity to think some of our elected officials who co-sponsored the computer courses and safety fair, including Councilman David Greenfield, Councilman Alan Maisel, Councilman Chaim Deutsch and Assemblywoman Jamie Williams. Special thanks as well to our community sponsors, including New York Community Bank, MASK and Apple Bank.
It was so beautiful to see so many people donning raingear and leaving the comfort of their homes to hear words of inspiration from the remarkable Rabbi Paysach Krohn, who served as our scholar in residence some weeks ago. Rabbi Krohn’s unique brand of inspiration and insight was the perfect way to begin preparing for the spiritual high of Shavuos.
Wishing you all a healthy and safe summer! Enjoy the time off from school and work, so you can rejuvenate for a new school year.

Warm regards, Shea
