EDITORIAL

Dear Readers,

The JCCMP is only what it is because of the incredible community that supports it. Your involvement is what makes everything we do possible, and for that, we are truly grateful.

In recent months, our community has faced significant challenges, including the proposed battery plant, homeless shelter, and migrant issues. These are serious matters, and it’s clear that they’ve sparked a lot of discussion. But as we all know, talking about issues is one thing—taking action is something entirely different. It requires a collective effort. Real change doesn’t happen just by showing up to complain; it happens when we come together and work toward a solution.

Take, for example, the proposed Muni Meters on Quentin Road. We knew that this plan would hurt our neighborhood, so we opposed it. We called for community involvement, but when it came time to act, only two people showed up to the meeting. Baruch Hashem, the proposal was stopped through other channels.

Contrast that with our Pesach program. Baruch Hashem, we were once again able to help more than 200 families this year, providing them with the support they needed for a meaningful Yom Tov. That’s a real accomplishment, and we’re so thankful to everyone who participated. It’s a reminder that when we show up, we make a difference.

Moving forward, let’s remember that our community is only as strong as our collective efforts. Wishing you and your families a Chag Kosher V’sameach, and may we be zoche to celebrate the Seder in Yerushalayim Habenuyah.

Warm regards,

Shea Rubenstein
