Follow us
Denial
While outside beckons
A shining sun
Within its cloudless folds
Within these confines
Of an urban store
A different tale is told
I try to hide
From all the racks
Of back-to-school clothes
I avert my glance
From pencils and bags
And the doom they propose
I grab some milk
Head out the door
Now off to buy ice cream
It may be a myth
But I won’t let go
Of my endless summer dream
