Summer means sunshine and ices
Sprinklers and pretty blue skies
Summer means smiles and suntans
Catching waves and fireflies
Yet there’s one small joy of summer
That no one talks much about
It’s right here in good ol’ Brooklyn,
This haven of hot cement grout
It may be hot as a furnace
Compared to grassy upstate
But here’s the special secret:
In summer the parking’s top rate
So go, pack your trucks and boxes
And enjoy those vibrant green places
I’ll stay here happily, behind the wheel
Trying out all of those parking spaces
