JCC HAPPENINGS

JCC Happenings

Kids Club Creations
The JCCMP Kids Club has been busy producing masterful creations. In February, we held a “Make Your Own Snow Globe” class where children aged four and up could customize and make their own snow globes! Some kids colored in pre-drawn pictures and used them in their globe inserts, while others designed their own images. Small, punched-out white paper circles were the final touch, adding a fun winter wonderland effect.

Pesach Seder Urchatz Towel Decorating
Enhance your Pesach Seder with your very own Urchatz towel! On March 18, the JCCMP Kids Club is offering a towel-decorating session. Children aged four and up can have fun making personalized towels to use at the Pesach Seder. Colorful fabric markers will be available so kids can outline their names and stencil pictures on the towels.

Purim Fun

On March 9, over a hundred singles, ages 24-38, will gather at our JCCMP Pre-Purim Singles Event at the Rooftop Bar in Manhattan to mix and mingle and perhaps meet their bashert! Shadchan Baila Sebrow will run the event, which promises to be a blast with interactive programming, games, and speed dating. Shadchanim will be present to help facilitate the event and guide singles with any challenges they may have in socializing.

Pesach Cleaning Prep and Charity Event
Want a head start on Pesach cleaning? The JCCMP has you covered. On March 16, we are hosting a post-Purim nosh giveaway event where you can drop off any extra candy, snacks, nosh, and treats. The nosh will be collected and distributed to local needy families from our Project Machal database. We will also have a JCC Family Library book sale on March 16th, where you can donate or buy used nonfiction books, novels, children’s books, and sefarim for a good cause! Any proceeds from the sale will go to purchase new books and toys for the library.

Flying High with JCCMP

Have you ever flown a plane and wondered what it takes to fly it? Come to the JCCMP on March 23 and find out! We will offer a free aviation class where kids ages 12-16 can meet with pilot Rafi Rafaeli and learn what it takes to fly a plane. Rafi will teach the kids about aviation, aerodynamics, aircraft systems, flight instruments, aircraft operations, and weather. Rafi is an instructor at 770 CFI Services, where he teaches and helps people obtain their pilot license.
